Scholarship Details
The Chatham-Kent Film Group Scholarship Award provides a one-time monetary award of up to
$1,000 to assist with post-secondary education expenses. This scholarship is open to students
applying for the 2025/2026 academic year who plan to pursue a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of
Fine Arts, or a diploma in Film Studies, Cinematic Studies, or Media Studies.
 

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible applicants must:

•  Graduate from a Chatham-Kent secondary school in 2025 and enroll full-time in a post-secondary college or university in the fall.

•  Submit a 500-word essay outlining their future aspirations in film.

• Complete and submit the application form along with the essay no later than Friday, April 25, 2025.

• Participate in an interview with the Chatham-Kent Film Group Committee.

Application Process
1. Complete the application form in full.
2. Attach the required 500-word essay.
3. Submit all materials by email to chathamkentfilmgroup@gmail.com by April 25, 2025.
Late submissions will not be considered.

Award Recipient Notification

The selected recipient(s) will be notified via telephone or email by the end of May 2025. The
recipient will be introduced at the June 2025 film showing. Additionally, the recipient must email
their first-year syllabus and proof of enrollment from their post-secondary institution to
chathamkentfilmgroup@gmail.com.
